Default Hi - New to the Hardbody forum...

Hi, my name is Rob, my last Nissan truck was a 720 back in the mid-80's. I recently picked up a '95 reg. cab XE shortbed, 5spd. This truck runs pretty good and is all stock, I don't even think the shocks were ever replaced.

I have a few questions, at around 3500rpm, there is a lot of buzzing sound be emitted. For instance, if I rev the engine, the buzzing starts in at 3500 and under load in all gears around 3500 the buzzing can be felt/heard. When traveling on the freeway around 75mph, if I drop down to 4th gear and get the rpms going to 3500 the buzzing is there and disappears around 4000rpm. Has anyone encountered this?

Also, my hood vents at the base of the windshield are gone, I noticed another thread wear any person's was missing, do they typically fall off?

And just for general information, I know these trucks can be kept running for a long time, what other things "typically" happen as the years/miles roll on?

Hey Rob,

Not much happens as the years roll on, except parts get harder to find.

Where does the buzzing noise come from? Transmission? Speakers? Rear End?

If you want to send me your left over hood vent, I'll take it! LOL

Default buzzing...

hi jp2code... At first I thought it was the cowl cover (the one missing the small grills, and I used masking tape to temporarily hold the whole thing down. But it did not make much difference. I seems to be from the front, not sure if it is under the dash or behind the firewall. The sound is like heat shield vibration on the exhaust. Something like that. I will continue to experiment unless someone else experienced this.
