I have an idling issue on my 97 Nissan hardbody! I replaced timing chain and distributor! It starts and isles up high and isles down and then the idle goes down and up and then it dies! I can unplug the maf sensor and it will idle high but it will run any help would be appreciated
But, first you need to make sure your engine has the timing set correctly to 10° BTDC. Once that is done, pull the codes to see if it says the MAF is bad.

Look for vacuum leaks around the MAF or a wiring/grounding issue going to it.
