It's like any other ext warranty. If you'll be able to put out the money for whatever may go wrong, then don't buy it. But if you wont have the, say $3000 for a transmission, then buy it, BUT...
you don't have to pay the full price. The dealership makes a lot on ext. warranties. We just purchased a Nissan for our daughter and got the ext warr. for $400 less than the normal price. And, if you buy it, make sure you get the actual Nissan warranty. You have your choice of miles and deductibles.

NO. Trust me... I'm in the business. Extended warranties are not real warranties (such as the manufacturer warranty). They are serviice contracts with 3rd party companies who nickel and dime you to death if you ever have a claim. Better off saving that money in a rainy day fund if you ever do need repair work on the car. The F&I guy at the dealership will put huge pressure on you to buy it because he gets a BIG bonus on ext warranty deals. They are pure profit for the dealership. Don't do it!

NO! Never buy the extended warranty. Let's look at it this way. They are gambling that nothing that will go wrong and that they will not have to do anything. If they continually lost the gamble they would stop offering the warranty. Since they obviously make millions off of the warranty it must mean that it is not necessary. Keep your $2000 and go on a cruise or something.

Most extended warranties are a rip as far as I am concerned. Take the money and put it in the bank, you will be better off!

I wouldnt buy a Murano. I had a friend that bought one and when he was stopping the seat belt ripped off. Luckily he was going slow, but can you imagine if he was going fast. Just an isolated incident I am sure.

Yes, Nissan is not the greatest company out there and they are expensive to fix. Totally unrelated, but I bought an extended warranty on my car and have owned it a year and two months. This has saved me $8000 in repair bills and rental car fees.
