I have a 2002 Nissan pathfinder se manual. I have owned the truck for about a year and put on 40,000 miles. It now has 130k. A week ago I had a new clutch plate, bearing and flywheel put in at a local dealership. After getting the truck back it noticeably would have a shake at 40-45 miles an hour. Then a week later it suddenly started to shake much worse and I immediately brought it back to the dealership. They told me that my transmission was shot, and that I had atf in my transmission. They stated that this was probably the reason for the failure of the transmission. Thing is I have never had it serviced before and they insist they added no transmission fluid when thy did the clutch. is it really possible that the truck had the wrong fluid in the entire time I owned the truck and it just went bad now? And is it true that they don’t have to drain or add any transmission fluid when doing the clutch? About how much is a replacement tranny going to cost me?
